A Jubilee Thought

“For me the teachings of Christ and my own personal accountability before God provide a framework in which I try to lead my life. I, like so many of you, have drawn great comfort in difficult times from Christ’s words and example.

“I believe that the Christian message, in the words of a familiar blessing, remains profoundly important to us all: ‘Go forth into the world in peace, be of good courage, hold fast that which is good, render to no man evil for evil, strengthen the faint-hearted, support the weak, help the afflicted, honour all men.’

“It is a simple message of compassion… and yet as powerful as ever today, two thousand years after Christ’s birth.”

  1. On June 2nd, HM swore to uphold the laws of God and the true profession of the Gospel besides governing all her realms and territories (through their governments, including that of the UK) according to their respective laws and customs.
HM has been forced to break her Coronation Oath; all post-war Governments within her sixty years on the throne have failed, it seems, to assist her in upholding those laws. We have witnessed Sunday trading being legalised; homosexual behaviour (even between consenting adults) becoming legalised; human life devalued as abortion was legalised forty-five years ago.
Apart from joining in my church’s Jubilee bringand share lunch for fellowship reasons I felt that I could not support the Jubilee.
